Description
Eighteen conjoined postage stamps, Cook Islands Postage, one penny. 'ONE HALF PENNY' is printed across the centre of each stamp. Pending the preparation of a permanent half penny value, it was decided to convert the one penny. 10,800 copies were overprinted by means of type at Rarotonga. One pane of 60 had the surcharge double and on one pane it was inverted. Minor varieties are also found. Additional notations on page: '2nd stamp no serif to top of L; Small O; HAI.F; Partial double surcharge; Raised F'.
