Description
One postage stamp, New Zealand Postage, one penny with postmark. As it was discovered that the colours of some of the stamps could be changed to resemble those of higher values, it was decided in 1871 to print the 1d, 2d, and 6d values in brown, vermillion and blue. Watermark large star. Perforated 10, imperforate vertically. 1d. Deep brown, reddish-brown.
