He and Hadfield drew up the Report of the first NZ Synod. He was dissatisfied wile some parts of the Const tion of the Church drawn up at Auck and y his perseverance got Large alterations made in it at the General synod which sat in Ch.Ch. in '65. He was a member of the first comm of the Philosophical Ist2t. formed by Haast. He had many church offices including visitor to the y Asylum, Orphanage + + Hospital . In later years he built a cottage t Sumner where he retired for quiet and did a curate work there ; he helped to get the church built there.
