Marks/Inscriptions: Y 28 Young hus band, John ( ) with his wife and 5 ch. arrived by the Cashmere . He was a book binder and manu factoring stationer in Ch.Ch and his first premises were in Colombo St. near Glos. St. and he moved fom there to Tram St. He was early interested in Timaru and had on sale a map show ing the Govt. and the Rhodes townships of Timaru. In May 60 he started the Ch.Ch subscription Library Circulating Library. In Dec. 60 he was licensed to sell stamps. He was the second holder of a license the first being Ebenezer Mills . He won the rifle shooting match No 2 Coy. Canty Rifle Vol. After the fire of 64 his well known lille shop was sold by auction, bought 6y Oswald and dra g8ed by a teams of bello ks to a new site of on the Ferry Rd: this was one of the early buildings of Ch. Ch. He went to live in Tim ar about 65 and announced that he won ld undertake commissions act as agent etc. He was one of the support c1s of a second newspaper to be called the Timaru and Temuka Chron efe At a public meeting held in Ch.Ch 16.9.67 over the question of the Timaru and Gladstone District Board Bill he seconded one of the Andersen S. She did hot see him Again till '75. She heald nothing of him till he presented himself at the door.
