Marks/Inscriptions: W. 49.1 Wilcox , Edward smyth (1815-96) was Registrar of Taramakau and was appointed Registrar of the Supreme Court, Ch.Ch. in succession to C.A. Calvert q.v. He arrived in Lylt 10.8.67 and Calvert handed over the seals of ice to him . The Govt. of N.Z. haw aver made a plunder in the date of the ness appoint n ent leaving the Ch .Ch. Supreme Court without a Registrar, and the documents W ith no one to seal them. He was elected to St. Michaels Ap 71, 72. He presided at a meeting called to consider getting the old Gymnas ne in in der wary again . He had been a gymnast in his youth and pointed out the necessity of having an instructor.
