Marks/Inscriptions: W. 69 Waller Hon . Lancelot (1829 -1907) was a son of Thomas Walker. Scots Greys, whose house was Ravens field Park, Yorks. His mother was Constanti Anne , dau. of John Claudius Beresford , Loved Mayor of Dublin . ipanglot ) a Commission the H R. 10s Anny but resigned in dis gust at seeing no active service. Acland says he was famous for his caustic appo speeches and haughty Appearance and manners . He came to N.Z. and his brother Sherbrooke olowe ed him. He went in to part. with Mallock in Heath stock in 55 . I. D. Lance sold Mt Four peaks to the Walker Brothers probably taking the Walker share of Heath stack in pay ment. In '63 Clayton was bought by the Walker Bos. and Cay t Clogstown : The owners , Kennaway , Lie and Acton had haa heavy snow loses the previous Season , Clayton and Mt. four peaks cared all gether 40000 sheep. The partners leased the wholly Ain to Charles Harper and G.A.E. Roos o , but the big Show of '67 mined them and the Walkers and Clogstown had to lake the station back. W squatter; at the same time he sold Mt Four Peaks high country to C.G. Tripp. He was fond of racing and was a steward y the C.J.C. He was a mem be of the C.J.C. committee of 15 in '59 , the first time the comm . assumed its present shape. At the C.J.C. meting of '66 he won 2 races Nourmahal and was o2' in the Derby with Master Rouse. He sold Master Rowe after the meeting for L 200 . Later he raced in part. with G.C r. Stead. hws good horses called Trump Card and he Lou. He went for a trip to Eng. about '62 and w hitle there bought a valuable collection of horses which included the famous stall on reducer, a splendid mare Merman l and the draught stall on King Fergus. The voyage in the Kensington was very protracted and the horses were rst feeding well and finally he give up hope of ever landing them alive . Campbel , James Maling s L.R. Corsbie. L.F. 13.9.66 says " Lancelot Walker owne a lovely tract of Meadow land in Tonga Tabu His brother Sherbrooke died in '73. 2 does not app car to have taken any part in the life at the station.
