Marks/Inscriptions: (1817-85) 1312 Toomath, Edward . he was probably the William Toomath. school master who came out fore - cabin in the Cressy. He taught the boys in the barracks at Lylt before X's Coll was started in Ch.Ch. The Rev. Thom as Jackson mentioned him as a beacker of the elementary school in Lylt in his report. At the laying of the foundation stone 24.4.52 of Holy Trinity Lylt. the school children led by Mt Toomath ths schoolmas tee walking two and two. He left for Wgtn. in 53 marr. 25.8.54 at St. Peters Wgtn. Hay Ann Edson Rev. R.B. Paul. St. Pants Wgtn s M.R. He was one of the comm who organised the farewell breakfast to the Godley s. He was agent S.P.C. L. He was appointed to Thorn don Sch. Wgtn in '53. He He founded private schools in Wgtn + Greytown in '57 . He rep. Wgtn. City in the Prov. Coun. '56 '61 . member Wgtn Educ. Bd. '77 -81. He was an inspector of schoole and an advocate of free educ. He farmed at Kairanga marr. 3 Eliza Jane Batters y of Cornwall shi in 180. He d. 29.4.85. D.
