Marks/Inscriptions: T113 Teschemaker family was a Dutch family who went out to D marai about 1700 and became sugar planters there . The family, prospered and in 1796 moved to Boston. John Teschemaker. the father of Wm. Henry who came out to N.Z and settled at Kauroo in Otago was born in Demean a 29.11.1792 . The family sailed for Eng . in 1801; the peace of Aries having been signed with Napoleon , and moved over to Holland in the same year : they lived partly in Auster dai and in the sum iner o0 on a fine estate in the country. When war broke out again . Nof the French in waded Holland and. the Dutch funds fell heavily. John Teschemakers father having lost much of his money managed to get a passport and returned to Demarca leaving John to be educated in" Eng. He went to Exeter Colleg , Oxford and then to Lyden to sturdy law . John en listed in the volunteer Cavalry in 1815 and was present at the Bake of Water loo. In 1819 John and his brother Tom (the father of Frederick William + Thomas of Otaio) returned to Demersal . In 1821 John returned to England and next year married Anne Shute Tom marr. in 1828 in Demarara Mus Mackenzie e4e . N. Mrs Geo. Hampton Rhodes H. H. Pitman W. S. Davids on ( he became general omn anager of the N.Z. and Aust. Land Co. The father of the 5 above was John Corliss Thierens a ly son of Albert s Thierens of Danner ra, Dutch Guiana. He was b. Damar ra 1827 marr. in 52 Corline Aviemore Spur wan eldest dau. of John Spur way of Spin way and Ok ford , North Devon , Rector of Pitt, Tier ton see J.C. Thierens card. J.C.
