Marks/Inscriptions: S 293 Sheridan, Tho mas advertised that he was late candle maker to W.L. Mathews and has taken over the extens ie Candle works in Salisbury St East which will be known as the Ch.Ch. Candle works . He had been a candle maker since 1841 Sept. 82 The reason for all this was tat Wm. Lee Mathews was found guilty of an in mention able crme and was sentenced to 2 years imp. when he came out he and Sheridan talked of going into business again. Best all his implements of trade had been seized b y the barks and when ed by the offered for sale by Alport were bought in cheaply b Alport Thos Sheridan, carrier marr. 21.2.78 Margt Hunter Wattie 21 at Browns Budge wits.
