Marks/Inscriptions: R. 354 Rose Richard was in part. with Cyrus Wilson in the Lest on Flou Mills ; they advertises that they were ready for business in their new mill at Leeston 25.2.67 . They diss. part. in Sept. 67 and Rose carried on. Their mill was known as the Milton Mill. Rose was clerk of the scales at the Leeston Racer held 17.12.67 and again next year. In Ang. 71 he was leaving the colony and advertised for sale his interest in the Milton Flour mill at Irwell. G. B. Good man bought it for £1050. Before Rose left he presented a brech loading rifle to be shot for by by the Ch. Ch. Volunteer Battery. Gunner Fox won it. Herepo d to Canty. He returned to Canty in the mn idle of 72 bringing with hin the machinery for a new mill. S. Stuckey after wards took over the Milton Mill. R. Rose was elected a member of the Irwell Sch. Comm.
