Japanese officer's sword and scabbard
Description
Japanese officer's two-handed sword and scabbard. Sword: habaki and seppa of copper; iron tsuba; fuchi of iron with inlaid gold and copper; menuki of iron inlaid with gold; kachira of iron with inlaid gold and copper. No inscription on sword tang but interior of copper fuchi is signed. Hilt has seppa of white ray skin bound with thin black plaited cord. Scabbard is wood coated with black and dark red horizontal lacquer stripes.
