Marks/Inscriptions: R. 171 Rhode , James (1848- 1926.) was the eldest son of Izrael Rhodes of Flea Bay . and was born there. His father came to Fea Bay to to look Rhodes Brothers stock. After I2rails death in 71 the 3 sons James, Holds worth and Alfred carried on at Flea Bay and made it a good farm. James bought out his brothers Shares anod divided the place between his 3 sons.- He served on the Akaroa + Waini Rd. Bd. marr(1) 23.8.76 Mary dau of Antonio Rodrigues of the Madera Hotel they had 2 sons 1 dau. She d. 19.6.82 marr. (2) 25.4.86 Annie Eliz. dau of Geo. Haylock wheel right 1 son 4 daus. + Theresa Josephine Watkins. She d. 10.7.45 ag 75 He d. Akaroa 10.6.26 ag 78. eldest son Alfred I2rack marr. 4.1.04 Melli Clarissa eldest dau.
