Marks/Inscriptions: p 332 Pery man , Henry William (1828-1910) was the eldest son of Henry Wm. Pexy man of Adelaide and was born at Dartmouth, Devon sh. He learned the trade of a builder and came out to S. Aust. in 49. In 58 he came over to N.Z and settled in Nelson where he was engaged in saw milling for 6 years . He held a commission in the Waimea Volunteers when he was in Nelson. He bought a farm in Tai Tapu about 68 . He had married white he wes at Nelson. He chair man of the Tai Tapu Sch. comin 66- . At a concert at the Tar Taper school rom he recited " Inn not a particular man "and sanf "Heart of Oak ' to great Applian se. In '69 he had a crop of wheat which went( 2 bushels to the ac. - a very heavy crops in those days; . was noticed in the papers. He was elected to the Comm. of the Lincoln Farmers Club Sept. 71 . In Aug. 72 he gave an address to the Club on 1 the des ia bitty f establishing an a guilt ral training school in this province " . He apparently had been trained as an arch i tip- and designed an office and store for Burnett + Saunders of Lichfield St July - ; Saunders was relate d to him by marriag e was elected to the Selwyn C.6 in Nov. 78 Cyclop. Bd and for years he was a member of ) the Lylt. Herb. Bd of which he was chairman for a y ear. He was a member, in '8 2 of the South Waimak. River Bd and twice chair man . He was an or gal director and remained so tile his death of the N.Z. Farmer s Co-op. Assoc. He was a prominent in umber of the Wes. Church and attended nearly all Anni t conferences and twice Attended general conferences in Anst He was chair man f the North Canty Educ. Bd in 1903 marr '53 Eliz. dau of Au ran Saunders of Devises, Wills. She had come out to Melbourne with her brother Edward to see how Alfred was getting on in Nelson. Edward came on to N.Z and she stayed in Aust and marr. H.W.F in 53 and he joined the Wes. Church. In 58 they left for N.Z and settled near Alfred at Bright water Mills . Nelson.
