He was a farmer of Oxford and his farm was called Fairf eld He advertised for harvesters for tying and stoking 170 ac of cop Dec. 73 He was elected sec. + treas of the Oxford Cricket Club Nov. 73 . He was elected to the Oxford Rd. Bd. Jan 75 and next year was elected chair man. He presided at a in eating called to collect funds after the disastrous Oxford fire of Mary '76. £205 was soon collected in Oxford. He was elected to the Ashley C.C. for the Oxford Riding , easily defeating Dilnot Sladden.
