He arrived early in the 601s and worked at casting stores to the Otago gold. fields In 78 he bought his Ashley Farm which became kn own as Clydesdale . He helped to resuscitate the Maleness A. P. Show when it was moribund. He was a noted breeder of Clyde d alis and short hors 2 was a prom otor of the North Canty Coop Stores and a director ; director of the sefton Mitral Daring As soc. : a member of the Sefton Ashley Drainage Bd. He refused to stand for the Rd. Bd. He garve land for the Ashley Church . He was a staunch Methodist. marr. Mary a dau of John Moffat who d. at his house 8.9.98 ag. 88. : she was a great butter maker , Won marry prizes: she d. at Rang. 19.5.22 ag 70. He 13.3.13 family. eldest .
