Marks/Inscriptions: P. 104 Parker son , William Mount (1834 -1912) was the 4' son of Dr. Burrell Parkerson was b. in Eng. and came out with his parents in the John Taylor in . He appears to have been a shrewd man and when he bought a property usually did So with a view of reselling at a good pro it. He bought Mesopotamia from Samuel Butler for £10000 , whereby Samuel Butler achieved his ann of doubling his Capital and within a year or tao sold it to Cator and Campbell for £ 13.10. In '80 he bought the Lakes Station from the Mathias Brothers for about half what they had gwen for it : In 85 he bought re other half f the Lakes Station from Geo mncichillan and having thes made it o a much more valuable property sold it to Gardner+ Pickering. He and his brothers at one time owned thee Mackenzie Country Ruins , Greys Hills, Whales back and Sowdon. In 1880, when he bought The Lakes he was liv ing near Waikaia on a bit of the Duke of Manchester s land and became a member of the Waipara Rd Bd and succeeded S. Lance as Chairman. He was a member o f the Mt. Cook Rd. Bd. in '64. He gave 2 cc. of land for the school at Waikaia He was elected to the Waikaia Rd. Bd. Any. 78 and was chairman neat yar. In 83 -84 he shore 22000 sheep (mort Lakes Sheep.)
