Wm. ; Eliz, inf . arriving Dec. 1850; also on board illia was his brother John Parish, single, farmer ag. 3 e settled in Heath cole and took a ferry Road Contract, He was one of the first of the early settles to sow a crop f wheat . In a review of the Progress of Canty the L Tines mentions small farms on the Furry Road and " a small partch of wheat belonging to a nerd i bourne man called Parish. " Later he had farms at Templeton, Springston, and the Fury Rd. He walled an ass the hills to Ran paki and got seed wheat f rom the Maoris . He was one of the two farmers who had risen from being ag. labourers , who wrote to the Lylt. Colonists Soc. , lest fy ig to the excellency of Canty, soil, He was a breeder of hos ses and pigs and won many prizes at the early shows He had the pony stallion Hero and offered a prize for the besto Jory S lis stock at the Canty Show of 62 . He called his Ferry Road Farm Cam bridge shire Farm. He opened the George + Drag on Hotel on the Great South Road in Nov. and W.D. Show of 67 he won most of the prizes for pigs. He organised n Old English Sport at his St. A conge + Dragon Hotel at Templeton o Anniv . He won 2 first prizes draught hoses stallions at the Ch.Ch. Show of 69. He was elected to the Heath wole Rd. Bd Jan. 71 debating Fisher for first pace 149 voles to . In Oct.71 the George + Dragon was Again back on his hands . He opened a monthly "Fair" there in Nov. 2 and: t. Ford acted as auctioneer. He was a member of the Templeton Rd. Bd as well as Heathcote.
