He came to N.Z. later and retired from the sed in 79. He was an examiner of Masters and mates for their certificates together with Capt. F - Gibson and Capt. Mc In tyre and was an ad jester o y Compares. Hr was considered an ex cellar t camar er of c He and his wife were appointed super in ten dents of the Lylt. Sailors Home which was opened Dee. 83 It was built out of publics subs. , proceeds of Am ion s S. Co 's Wa kat ipn excursion tip to Akaroa. together with a grant trom the Lylt. Harb. Bd.
