Marks/Inscriptions: 142 Owen , Alexander ( was a diaper of St. Johns Hill , London. and came out to N.Z. with his wif e Sarah Jane Milstead in the City f Perth in '78 . They had 4 sons Alex. q.v. : Sydney Charles, q.v. Ernest Frederick (grover , apprenticed to Reincand +Marriott ) + Llewelyn schoolmaster and mmse teacher. The Owens were members of the Congregational Church. They had friends in London called Woodham who were also Cong legation lists . Alex. Owen and James Woodham used both to attend the classes of Dr Gladstone (brother of W.E.) James Woodham was Dr Glad stones butler. When Alex. Owen arrived he naturally went as soon as possible to Trinity Cong . Church and the first man he saw was James Wood ham . They used both to Attend the Grafton Sear are Cong. Church in London. Dr. Gladstone classes were Bible classism . Woodham and Owen used to look out for new arrival s at Tin. Cong. Church and would take them home to tia after thie service. They used to vist each others houses and sing hymns. He was organist at T.rin Cong.Ch. He worked f n J.P. Jameson a prominent member of the Church. Later he worked for the Ch.Ch. CC.
