James Alfred was born 22.10.61 and educ, same schoole as Frank. He was a keen volunteer rising to the ark of Major, He was recruiting officer in Ch.Ch during 1914 war and was awarded the M.B.E. He was a zealous member of the Anglican Church a lay reader , and was largely responsible for building All Saints Church at Waiau. He was pres. of the Amei A. + . Assoc. + chair man of the Hall and Library Comm. at Waiau. He was a genuine, lovable and courteous man and was looked on with affection and esteem by everyone in the dist. He marr. 6.4.93 Edith Marion only dau of J.D. Lance. Se was b. '61 d. 1928. Loy Rev. Hugh Northcote brother o C t Waikaia J.D. Lance died at High field. family. Thos Francis educ.
