Marks/Inscriptions: N. 131 Noding, John Henry (1824-1900) was the inventor of a flax dies inp machine during the flax bon of the late 60's. e made an arrangement with W.H. Barnes who was going to manufacture it. ( Buries and Newton supplies some of the machinery to Ninnis Bros. when they started a flar mill at Halswell Noding was bankrupt in May '70. He applied the master ship ap Milton school but the Bd. of Educ. wdq , not pass him as up to standard. He had an asst. - masters certificate. Noding " blue gunn ' "shop was on the Westside of High St between Cashel + Lichfield St. He d.
