He visited the West Coast gold fields and the came to Ch.Ch. . He worked for Heyward of Kaiapoi and then wart to Lylt. and worked on harbour construction . He bought a small farm at Leeston and later moved to Dunsandel where he farmed for 20 years .He was a member o the sch . Comm. there . He moved to Waddington and farmed there gt 15 years . He retired to live in Ch.Ch. in 1906. He was successful farmer and Clydesdale breeder and took prizes at Showe . He was a member 1 of the Canty. A.+p.Assoc. L1.10. be of th marr. 10es F9r ary Ann Matilda Doyle of Leeston at the Manse Ch.Ch. Rev. Campbell. She d. 3.9.33 ag. 83 He left widow 4 sons 1 dau. He d. Garden Rd Fendalton 24.3.26 ag 8 bur.
