Marks/Inscriptions: N45 was sired by Traducer . Nov. 78. Neilson raced 4 horses at this meeting. He took an active pet in the S. Canty A. A. Club meeting May 79 acting as judge and timekeeper and won the officials race. He, Dan O'Brien and Hon Wm. Robinson were racing in part. in this year. He had a cottage either or or near the Rib. Race course . He no doubt. watched his horses work and perhaps rode then in work He excelled at cricket and was a very good captain . He was also perhaps the best amateu b hard player in N.Z. although probably Charles Enys wonld rine him close . He was also a first class shot and a good Tennis player could hardly be lawn tennis which was not played as early as '80) . He was a member of the Ch.C. Club. He was apparently so ill when he was staying at the Club that he had to have a nurse. The Com m. discussed how much to charge r her board +lodge. a case Saunders v. Dela main July '80 shows that he was insolvent of the time of his death. He d. 2.5.80 ag : G.G. stead wrote a short obit notice published 11 LT. 4.5.81 He spoke of his "generous and sympathetic nature joyous, happy , light hean ted Neilson Admiral Auck tor of sport " LT. 3.5.80 : 15.7.80 : 4.5.80: Ch.Ch.Club.
