He was working on land near Dean's Bush and I understand he leased it. In 1958 he took his family to Temuka where he settled at Arowhenua Bush. Another child was born soon after they arrived in Temuka. to draw, the He helped layout of the town, and his name is perpetuated in the names of streets.
