Marks/Inscriptions: M. 400 a Miller, David (8 1858- was born at Napier and was educ. at the Rev. O1ary Irvine s gramino ar school . He entered the civil service in '75 as a cadet in the P. + T. dept. Napier where he remained for 7 years. He was then trans fereday to the G.P.o Wgtn. . In 86 he was promoted to Ch.Ch as senior money order off icrc and E years later was chief clerk. In 1900 he was transferred to Auck as asst. inspector of post offices in the Northern dist. marr '84 a dau of Geo. McVay of Anch family of 4.
