Marks/Inscriptions: M. 34 Mair waring , Randolph ( was the second son of Rear. Admiral Rowland Marr waring R.N. and came out 1o Canty in the 60's. He was a good crick ter and played for the Canty. Ri Otago et lest +times from 67 onwards. He played reg nearly for the united Cricket Club. He was see + t cas. to the Ch.Ch. . Football Club an d was later Capt. May 67. He was appointed Registrar of the Collegiate Lion (fore runner of Canty Coll) July '72. He was drawing master of Xs Coll during the 60's. and gave private lessons in drawing and painting. some of his water colour sketches survive . He was sec. of the Ch.Ch. Club '77 and resigned after a month hit when the Com m. raised his salary to £ 200 a year he stayed on. He was a member of the Ch.Ch. Chess Club. Oft. 79. He edited the evening paper The Globe while Bba Pritchard the proprietor was way Jan E1. He must have returned to Eng. so after this. marr. at Mitcham, Surrey 15.8.83 y Arch. diacn Harrison Edith Laura Vernon youngish t dau of Henry Foley of Es ham House Canty.
