(1824 -93) was a son of John Hill of Nottingham , lace manufactu and S.areal Ball He served his time engineering at the Crewe Rly. works and afterwards came out to Lylt by the Roman Emperor with his wife and 3 ch. arriving 27.1.60 , not including his eldest son Rowland Parker Hill b. '46. He worked at his profess ion at Lylt and put together and worked the steamship Expert which carried mails round the Bays . He as sem bled most of the early wool presses including that at Cheviot Hills He had the only lathe at Lylt. for a time and was the leading engineer there. He had a Prov. Govt. appoint ment in connection with the Lylt. Tunnel works. He bought the Albion Hotel from John Collier . He was elected to the Lylt. B0r. Conn. in '66. Some time later he started f arming at Lincoln. He retired to live at Aston, Fendalton . He played for the Veterans Club E. He had played for Nots Co in his young days. First wife died marr. (27 at St Peters Ricc. Sophia Gardner r b. '44 at cropsey, Oxford shire Eng dau Samuel Gardner, storekeeper.
