Marks/Inscriptions: H1. 10 395 Hearn, Henry (1852- ) was born at Wend wer , Aylesbury, Bucks. Eng. and was brought up to farming but worked for 2 year s at Holden 's cement works in War wick shire. He came out in the Crusader in '74 and e worked for H. Engel brecht at Carlton , near Oxford at £1 a week and £2 for harvesting. After 18 mos. he went to Ashley Station and worked as a ploughman for Tom Ellis at 2216 a week. He then bought a section east. of 4 1/2 ae in Queen Oxford , for which he paid £ 148 and built on it a 4 roomed house at a cost of £300 . He marr. in '76 and they went to Ealing where he started a statin for J.G. Ruddenklau . They stayed thee for 7 years and then went to manage a Rangitata Is place for the same man. They stayed there for another 7 years. In ' 3 he leased 1 528 ac. from osha Page on Rangitata Is. and renewed the Lease and bought the place after 2 years . He continued to bin land until he had 22 82 ac. to d.vile among his sons. He ret. to Redcliff where he lived with hes youngest t dau. marr. 10.10.76 Mary Ann Clay who had also come out in the Crusader. She was born at Little worth , Berks and died in 1913 + sons, 3 dau. ' son Wm. Henry marr. 15.10.13 Louisa Mary 2' dau John Milne of Sydenham 1 son killed in France 1917. Cyclop.
