Marks/Inscriptions: H. 348 Hay, William (1845-1910) was born in Pigeon Bay, the third son of Ebenezer Hay. He worked at Pigeon Bay and later became one of the N.Z. Land C0's inspectors . He rode ling distances on his work, often 1000 miles a mouth. He managed Edendale for the Land Co ard taas Wooed these . After his marriage he bought a block of The Levels in which to make his home . He called it Te Pukera marr 8.6.81 at Annandale by Rev. J. Hill Agnes Watson dau. of James Bain stout she was a well known school mistress and ester of Robert Hays wife.
