Marks/Inscriptions: H. 145 Harbridge James (1857 -198) was born in Birmingham and educ. at St. Pan ls School where he te came a teacher and asst. master . He gained a scholarship under which he studied at St. Marks College, Chelsea and received a first class certificate in the 2' division . He taught at St John 's school , Lady wood, Birmingham. In 82 he came to N.Z. vie Melbourne and served under the North Canty Bd. of Educ. He was believing master at Spreydon and was then appointed to the charen of west Oxford Sch. marr. at St. Andrews , Oxford 5.10.83 Rose Ellen Cope, 23 , dau. of John Cope, eave ler + Kosman Richards. She had taught at Boning ham and they had met there. She was mistress for 9 years at West Oxford Jones, 5 sons His ethe £e d. 17.7.07 ag 50 2 daus. (?3) bur. Oxford Cem.
