Marks/Inscriptions: H. 140 Hansen, John Nicholas ( 1850 ) was born in Denmark and after he left school went to sea for 10 years. In 74 he ran away from his ship and net to Belfield near Orari where he remained for 13 years. In 94 he drew a 185a L.1.P. section in the Cheviot Estate. He was a member of the sch. comm . and of the Cheviot Settlers Assoc. marr. '81 a dau. of H. Newport of Orari. ( son 5 daus.
