Marks/Inscriptions: H. 11. Hadecke , Albert Frederick (1855 -1917) worked in the Addington workshops and then became a contractor . He was responsible for the Rangiora gas works and the Temuka water supply works. He made bridges, ships bo boilers. While working at a bridge at Springfield, his only son had a fatal accident. at the time of his death he was engaged in the contract for the bridge at the mouth of the Hurunui. He had an engineering shop at Rangiora which he started in '92.
