He came to Timaru in 1875 and started in business there. In '90 he went - to America and studied dentistry and got his diploma at the mm.v. of Pennsylvania . He then con cent rated on dentistry in Tomaru , leaving the care of the chee is t shop to his assistant. He was referee to the S. Canty. Caledonia ian Soc. and was president for several years . He was Hon. Treas. to the Cs S. Canty. Jockey Club. Wm. Gum , nonminority marr. 6.8.78 at St. Marys Timaru Eliz. Jane Melton wit. Charlotte Melton. Rev. L.L. Brown Cyclop N.Z. William Gunn was my Great Grandfather. His son Gordon Gunn also trained as a Dentist.
