Marks/Inscriptions: G. 3 Sage 494 Gundersen , Albert Peter( (1846 -1911) was born in Bergen , Norway and was trained as a Watchmaker and jeweler. He was with B. Peters on + Co of Ch.Ch. who for 6 years ( Petersen was also born in Bergen), e sold his business to S. Nashelski who in turn sold to Herman Cohn. Cohn went to London and left Gunder sen in charge of his watch - and clock - making dept. and the shop in charge of John Monson . Monson and Gundersen were funds and were both on the comm. of the Union Rowing Club. In '82 Gundersen started on his own as jeweler and Watchmaker. He made large "Tell. Tale "clocks for the Asylum at Suny side, Lylt. Har b. Bd. the Is hinton Fee and Belfast Freezing works and Mannings Brewery He fitted the new town clock in Lylt r. Oct. 76. He was naturalised Aug. 77. He was Vice consul for Norway. He was ford of rifle - shooting and bor years was Capt. of the Ch.Ch. Rifle Club. marr. 17.12.81 at Cacique Anita Banfield. He d. at Matlock Bank, l per Ricc. 6.5.11 ag. 65. - dau. Mercedes Lus ia ( sabe) marr. 15.2.12 Dr. Isaac Th comp son 5 son, W. M. Thompson of Halswell Many good clocks in Canty dill keeping good time carrying the name of Gundersen on them.
