Marks/Inscriptions: G. 8 4 90 Gulliver , Harry ( 1854-191) was born in Eng. a son of James Gulliver baker of Han ts and later of Rangiora. He became carpenter and was in fart. with his brothers Fred. and George . They dis. part. in July 84. He went to S. Africa (2 to S.A. War) and settled there. He took up an Ostrich farm. He d. at Durban 8.7.11 ag 57. He was first engineer of the steam fire engine at Rangiora . He and Henry Blackett Junr. worked hard to get it. It arrived safely and had it official trial in Nov. 83.
