Marks/Inscriptions: G. 881 Guilford , William (1839- ) woke came out with his parents in the Castle Eden. He was the eldest son of John Guilford . He worke for Hay at Pigeon Bay and their for Caverhill at Motu man. Then he went pit saw ing in the Maori Bush and at Arowhenua. He went to the Victorian gold diggings and then to the West Coast. In '66 he marred and started farming at Pleasant Valley near Geraldine . He sold out in 1912 and went to Taramakau whee he continued to farm till his death He left wife " 12 grownup ch.
