Marks/Inscriptions: G858 Grigg, Joseph. (1833 -80) was a younger brother of John Grig of Lough ch. He came out with his sister Cuisi ,who was deaf and dunb to Arichland. John was then at Otahu. They went to live at Longbeach in the first house there; this was before the wooden house was moved from Chertsey. John said he was an unfailing judge of men - - better even than himself ; but he appears , hair f om his lettered to have been a modest. diff den t sort He also appears to have been one of those who can manage success filly for others but not for them coles Twice John started him on farms and on nether ctd he succeed. He was the first maraer of Longbeach and was succeeded by Hocking. He was still there in 68 and advertised dairy cows and heifer s for sale.
