Marks/Inscriptions: G. 855. Goodeve , Henry Roland (1845- 1922) was born in Essex and went to 5ea at the age of 13 and visited various colonies He settled in N.Z. in '59 and served in the coastal steamer Welling ton which traded between Lylt. and Timaru. He went to the Otago g oldfields and frum the to John Hays Mackenzie Country run- t Lake Tekapo. Hoa He then bought a farm at Waitohi Flat in the Temuka dist. in part. with Wm. ackroyd . They diss. part. and the farm was sold and Goodeve then bought "Dairy Green" of 156 ac. in the same dist. He was a member of the Pioneers Memorial Comm. at Temuka in '97 marr. Esther dau of Robt.
