Marks/Inscriptions: G. 180 Gilliat, Joseph Robin son (1837-1910) was born in Loins. and was brought up as a farmer . He married and come out with his wife soon after in the Cashmere arriving 15.2.61. He was a butcher at Tai Taper and then went to Little River where ie was a storekeeper and butcher. He lived at the back of the present railway station. He was a member of the Little River sch. comm Mar. 72 and was appointed as receiver of the 3ch. rate Aug. 72. He went to S. Canty. and leased Stumps Farm . Afterwards he bought 460 ac. at Seadown where he finally made his home. When he was at Little River he was in part. with Noah Walkers and they wac bankrupt May 65. family of 5.
