He was admitted as attorney at. law and solicitor of the High ounh f Chancery in . He practised in Croydon, Surrey and Bradford in Avon and came out to Auck. in the Oamaru in 187 He came to Ch. Ch. and was managing clerk successive ly to T.G. Russell, T.J. Joynt and J.A. Flesher . He was admitted as solicitor of the Supreme Court Nov. 96. and started practice inane dealey. He was a vestryman o of St. Mathews , St Albans narr Alice Orph eldest dau of Wm Treadwell of Scar built Marr or, Bought. under . Blam, Kent.
