Marks/Inscriptions: D. 258. 1800-86. I. Dews bury, Benjamin ( - 190s) arrived in Ch Ch. in Jam. . He had been an excise office in Scotland. He was an enthusiastic member of the Soot methodist Church. He was a preacher in Ch Ch. and continued so until the day of his death. His wife died in Stir ling , Scotland 7.12.61 ag. 56. He was a member of the Comm. of the Wesleyan Missionary Soc. , Nov. 64. He was present at the annual soiree of the Y.M.C.A. Mar. '67. He was in part. with Artemas Candy in a business as clothier s, out filers, boot+ shoe dealers . His son Benjamin was an accountant. Ben. Dewsbury was one of two (Geo. Gordon was the other) who took the money at the gales for the Ch Ch Show for years will out payment; Geo. Gordon , Town Clerk, was the other. They were thanked by the comm. He was a mute sec. of the Sunday Sch. nin, Feb. 69. The shops of Jones, Candy + Dews bury was on the the son West comer of Colombo and Glos.
