Marks/Inscriptions: C574a Coper , Thornhill 1840- was born 12.12.40 at Doncaster and was educ. at various schools in Yorks and Lanes. He spent a year in a givers shop and then joined the Gt. Northern Rly. and spent most of his time in the audit dept. He went to Victoria and joined the National B sank of Austral asia and stayed there bo -61. He returned to Eng. worked in a cotton warehouse and hen sailed for Brutish Columbia. He stopped at San Fran aso and then left for Port Chalmers in the Lady young. He went to Dunedin and joined the A.N.Z . in 63 and stayed the 6 years. He then went to the West Coast as O gold buyer and as ayers He returned to Manchester Eng. , came back to N.Z and joined the B.N.Z in 74 at Ashburton. He wrote a letter to the Lylt Times (22.7.75) on the subject of the ChCh Public Librar y. In 73 he was a photographer in Oxford Terrace ChCh. He sold his business to Wm. Sherlock oct. 76 and announced that he was about to make a photo groh hi tour of Canty. In 80 he joined Ledbetter and they were marie average a adjusters and accountants t n Wgtn. He stood in the Parity diction of s 4 for St Albans. He said he had been 20 years in N.Z. on of his planks was to reduce lawyers fees. Garrick got 396 voles and Cower got 2 .
