Marks/Inscriptions: O. 314 Claridge, Frank P. (1866 -1932) was born at Lough brough Leicester shire and arrived at Lylt in '79. He was a cadet with J.R. Camp bell at Southbridge and then went in for horse dealing at Templeton. In '90 he moved to Ashburton and was huntsman to the Ashburton Hunt Club for Ie erg years. In 98 he established himself as a trainer mostly of jumpers. He was a first class amateur rider. He bought the Livery Stables in andre It. Ashburton from McConnell in 1902 He called t Claridge Horse Bazaar and he could accommodate 52 hor ses. Smith of Smiths City Market was in part. with him. ) W.F.
