Marks/Inscriptions: O. 281 Chisholm, Robert Alexander was a teller at the v.B.A. Lylt. and gave Evidence at the Mag. Court 24.12.60. He was transferred to the Timaru branch in '62. When the mechanics Institute was formed there in July, 62 he was appointed See. The bank and the managers house well destroyed in the quat fire o f Dec. 68 and Mrs Chisholm and her family had to hurry out. Variables of the bank wen destroyed. He was chairman of the comm. of the Timaru Pub. Sch . Dec. 73. and was Govt. nominee on the Bd. of the Timaru High Sch. Dec. 78. He was manager of the Timaru branch of the v.B.A. from ' 2 to 95 and was then moved to Invercargill. He was given a large farew ill banquet at which H. Le Cren and T. Teschemaker were the principal speakers. Timaru people were very sony to see him 90. He was the son of Robt Chisholm of Auckland and Isabella Baird marr. 13.2.66 Alice 2' dau. of Wm. Henry Hewlings of Leicester, Eng. son Robt Hugh ( Bob)educ. X coll 83-84 , farmed at Cheviot, Cheviot agent Pyne + Co. d. 1 8 ag. 7 Canty.
