Coun Failures of Crops was the cause of his getting behind with his rent. He was bankrupt Oct. 98. He became licensee of the Rakaia Hotel, his wife finding the capital. He was still bankrupt in ' 99 . He took up a Ch riot leasehold and the tims of his lease forced him to lie on it Therefore he offered for Sale Tara, his property five mules from Ashburton 564 ac . freehold and 2000 leasehold ; 2600 shep. marr. 3.2.97 at the Catholi Cathedral Deborah Fe t2 sere, both of Cheviot.
