Marks/Inscriptions: B. 492 Blackmore , John Tones ( 1874) was the son of John Blackmore a sailor. He and his wife e and family came out in the Castle Eden and arrived 7.2.51. They appear in the pass. lest as follows. John B. ag. lab. 46, Anne, wife , 37 ; John, 8; Thomas 5; George if. They settled in Papanui . He probably worked in the bush . H3 appears in the Ele torah roll of '53 as J.B. lab. of Papanui. He is lev in 8 in Ohoka in '60; he advertises 7 a chest unt gelding missing f his Ohoka Farm. His farm and stock are advertised fox sale off by Wm. Buss in Mar. 68. a John Blacking ore, widower marr. at St Michaels by Rev. G.T. B.King elon Elizabeth Jackson widow. An Elizabeth Jackson w ith a family of seven came out in the Bangalore in '57. John Blackmore 's wife was Anne Davy; she may have died soon after they arrived He died at Ohoka 5.10.74 . burnie, Flaxton. Elizabeth widow of John Blackmore d . at her home Tapanui.
