Marks/Inscriptions: B. 484 Blackburn , William (1858- was the son of Thomas Blackburn and the his Wife Mary ; he came out with his parents in Buts Crown, arriving at Lylt. 17.8 .63. In common with many children in the North of England he had already worked two years in a factory . He got employment in a buick factory near Kaiapoi and when older workin at hauling timber from the Church Bush. He also worked on one of Richard Evans 's road contracts as far as Cust. He lived at Clarkville for many years but later moved to Kaiapoi and was employed at the Woolen Mills. married 10 children. eldest son Wm.
