It looked as though he would gt in easily ; but Moorhouse who had just resigned fr oort the Superin tendency decided to stand and he proved too much for Beswick who only got 21 voles to Becks Moor houses - When the Road Boards evere started in 164 he was elected to the Kaiapoi Rd. Bd. When Kaiapoi became a iii pali ty he was elected to the first Municipal ConniCk , being second on the poll to Dr. Dudley. He and Burch dis. part. in 65 and he left for Timaru about this time - no doubt to take control of his brother Johns affairs thea ( John herd been drowned in the Wreck of the Cite of Dunedin ) He was put in charge of the landing score at Timaru in '60 in place of John. He had been appointed Baal master and Immig ration office Vice Wolcom be in 65. There was much drssalisfaet won felt by some ship owners with delays in Wading and in loading and in particular the Melita was selected as a bad case. How ever Capt.
