He was twelve when he arrived and he worked with his fathe Fr yeas int the trace of a bootmaker . He took a trip to Eng. when he was nineteen and got marr ied while he was there . He returned with his young wife, aged seventeen, by the Victory which arrived 14.5.59. He announced himself as boot and shoemaker Norwich Quay in May, 60, and he remained theref r 40 years. He l hen removed to Waimate and some of his family went with him. He started a boot factory there. left a widow , Sarah He d. at Waimate 21.9.03 aged 66 and grown up family. youngest dau ther marr.
