Marks/Inscriptions: B. 376 Bennington John, Juwan (1837-1903) was the son of John Bennington bootmaker and I e. and arri oed with his parents and brothers and sisters by the Randolph. He was twelve when he arrived and he worked with his fathe Fr yeas int the trace of a bootmaker . He took a trip to Eng. when he was nineteen and got marr ied while he was there . He returned with his young wife, aged seventeen, by the Victory which arrived 14.5.59. He announced himself as boot and shoemaker Norwich Quay in May, 60, and he remained theref r 40 years. He l hen removed to Waimate and some of his family went with him. He started a boot factory there. left a widow , Sarah He d. at Waimate 21.9.03 aged 66 and grown up family. youngest dau ther marr.
