Marks/Inscriptions: B. 300.) Beechey, William (1842 -1912) came out in the Castle Eden with his parents and his brother and sisters arriving 7.2.51 . An entry in St. Andrews Marr. Reg. describes hi as gent. born 1836. He married in '57. It appears that his wife was musical , gave use lessons and sang at concerts, though this may be confusion with Mrs Henry Beechey. She advertised concert at Lylt. in June '58 assisted by Mr Jeffreys and his wife (the owner of Brody" The anderton was partly to display the accomplis Linens of Mrs Beechey 's pupils. Jeffreys played the tuba and the colin . a Gunman band newly arriv ed lent a hand. Beechey was wac£ diver to White o use who advertised that He he was no longer Employed by them. He had got into some violent dispute in the course f his emp comet. He was generally known as "Billy Beechey" . When Richard Hilton marred Capt. WesterMan 's dau. in N10v.5 he drove the only bus in Ch Ch al that time with quests. The pech ys seemed to be a hot headed family.
